Where has the time gone? This past week the girls hit the 8 month mark! For a few months now I have been thinking about swim lessons but I was not sure the best age to start them. Kira loves bath time so I thought we should give it a try. I was not sure what Alana would think of swimming as she is very mellow (very unlike her) in the bath tub. So today we put on the swim diapers and the swim suits and headed to Rex Wellness to see what would happen. Both girls were great! However as they normally do they surprised me. Kira while happy in the water was very reserved and mostly just hung out. She gave the occasional kick and truly seemed to like it but she mostly sat still. She enjoyed watching the water reflect on the ceiling. Alana however went crazy. She loved it. Her little legs kicked the entire time and her eyes were bright with excitement. It was a struggle to keep her face and mouth out of the water. She kept sticking her tongue out and she kept putting her mouth in the water. She did get a lot of water despite my attempts to keep her mouth out of the water. The only time we had a fussy babies was drying Kira off and both cried when we put them in their car seats. I think they were just worn out. They both fell asleep right away and never woke up even when I brought them into the house. Success!
