First Bike Ride with Daddy - Pull Behind

Daddy has been waiting for a long time to take the girls out on a bike ride.  They both needed to be able to sit up well on their own.  Since they have been sitting very well for awhile now we ran to Target to buy them both a helmet so that we could try it out.

It took Daddy awhile to get the bike and pull behind ready to go.  By the time everything was ready the girls were bumping up to their bed time and starting to melt down.  We tried it any way.  They both loved getting into the pull behind.  They were strapped in very well sitting on a seat and their feet dangled.  They loved scrubbing their feet on the floor.  Everything was going great until we put on their helmets.  We had tried the helmets in the house and overall they were fine with them.  However, in the pull behind the way the seat is the helmets pushed their heads forward so they had to look down.  They HATED that and started crying.  Once Dad started moving they both stopped but they still did not like those helmets.

You can kind of see how their heads are pushed forward.  They are not happy!  Kira on left & Alana on the right

We will have to find some new helmets for the next bike ride.

Pullen Park - Carousel - Train

We recently went to the TMOTT (Triangle Mothers of Twins and Triplets) picnic at Pullen Park.  We were excited to take the girls for the second time to the park but this time we figured we could ride the train and the carousel.  We also figured since their 1st birthday party was also going to be held at Pullen Park that we could take a few pictures for their invitations.

Auntie Kristen met up with us with Luster (Puppy for Guiding Eyes for the Blind) and we started with the carousel.  Mommy and Daddy were very surprised by how fast the carousel went around.  We were both wondering if we were going to be ok - it would have been terrible to drop the girls.  The girls at first were not sure about it.  They were not happy or sad - just neutral.  Near the end though they were both smiling and Kira was bouncing up and down on her horse.

We then headed to the train and Daddy dropped off the girls on my lap.  He did not ride so that he could take our picture as we zoomed on by.  It was a nice little train ride around the park.  So two firsts - the carousel and then the train.  Getting off the train without Daddy around was a little tricky.  Sweaty girls are very slippery.

We then returned to the pavilion for some lunch and to chat with other parents with multiples.  Alana had a new "naught" trick and while she was in the stroller every time we looked at her she would cry.  She wanted out.  If we ignored her she would stop but as soon as we glanced in her direction she would cry again.  If you know us at all you know that she stayed in that stroller until she stopped crying.
