9 Months & First Tooth

Today was the 9 month check up appointment. The beauty about this appointment is that it was the first appointment without any shots.  That was a great thing since Mom was solo for this doctor's visit!  Alana's weight was 16lbs. 6 oz. (17%); height 25 3/4 inches (1%) and head circumference was 18 inches (90%).  Kira's weight was 18lbs. (43%); height 27 inches (19%) and head circumference was 18 inches (90%).  Jim and I say their big heads hold their big brains.

A few other things to mention is that Kira's bottom tooth is coming in strong.  She remains a great baby through the teething as we would not have even known if she had not chomped on Jim's finger while we were camping.  She continues to squeal and overall she is a super content baby.  Alana has really come out of her shell the past few weeks and she is talking up a storm.  Both girls love to say what sounds like Da...Da... Da over and over again.  It is super cute.  Alana when she gets excited opens her mouth in an O shape (she has done this since she was born) and her legs go like crazy.  Kira when she gets excited her hands twist and her feet twist.  Funny how they are so alike but yet so different.

They both are showing more interest in sitting up and we have started to put them in high chairs when we go out to eat.  Like most kids they love banging their hands on the table.

 Alana

Kira - Coors Light please!

They are showing a lot of interest when we eat and drink and they will hold a cup to their mouth like they are going to drink.  Kira has also learned how to hold her bottle although unless she is super hungry she normally drops it about half way through.

Kira - Dad I am thirst!
